Product review sharing

This feature is part of the Product Reviews add-on module, which can be purchased in addition to the Plus, Premium, Advanced, and Enterprise plans.

You can share product reviews across your own domains or with other businesses that also use Trustpilot and sell the same products as you.

Showing more reviews for your products typically means a higher conversion rate.

Our product review sharing feature allows you to send a request to other businesses on Trustpilot, asking them if they’re interested in combining the pool of product reviews for the products in common.

To use the feature, both your business and the business you want to share with have to:

Currently you cannot share reviews with businesses outside of Trustpilot.

What do I need to do before I can share reviews?

The only requirement besides the above is for your products to have strong identifiers. This means that your products have to have either a GTIN or both Brand and MPN in your product catalog. We use this information to identify which products reviews are about.

How it’s done

To get started, go to Trustpilot Business > Reviews > Product reviews > Third-party reviews.

From there, you can read more about the feature and easily share reviews with your other domains under the same account or make a share request to other businesses using Trustpilot product reviews.

How do I stop sharing with another business?

Simple - just press Disconnect on any connection you no longer want.

What happens when I stop sharing with another business?

When you stop sharing with a business, things go back to how they were before you started sharing. This means that you keep your own product reviews and they keep theirs. Pending an up to 24 hour cache period, your reviews will no longer appear on their website, just as their reviews will no longer be displayed on yours.

Will attributes, photos and videos also be shared?

All content attached to the review will be displayed in the widgets, except custom attributes, which are not shared.

Can I remove the notice that shows where the review originated from?

No, in our research we learned that consumers value this transparent information, and we want to be open and transparent about where a review originated from.

Can I share with businesses that aren’t using Trustpilot?

Not at the moment, but this is something we’re looking into. Stay tuned!

My products only have SKUs, not GTIN or Brand and MPN. Can I still use the feature?

Unfortunately not. To enable sharing, we use these strong identifiers to detect that reviews are about the same products. Some businesses can use the same SKUs, but for different products, so they can’t be used.
