What does 'verified company' mean?

When a business verifies additional information about themselves, we display a badge on their Trustpilot profile page. This aims to promote transparency and allows businesses to show customers that they too are real people.

How do I know if a business is verified?

If a business has verified their details with us, you’ll see the following badge on their profile page, just below their star rating:

Verified company

How do businesses get verified?

There are several ways that businesses earn the status of being a verified company. In order to get the badge, they need to provide proof for at least one of the following types of identification:

  • Proof of identity (E.g. Passport, driver's license, etc.)
  • Contact details (Via sync with Google Business Profile)
  • Registered domain name ownership
  • Bank account registration

How can I see which details they’ve verified?

If you’d like to know more about what details a business has verified, simply hover over their verified company badge, and we’ll show which of the 4 criteria they’ve fulfilled.

If you want to see an even more detailed overview, find the Company activity module on the business’s profile page. Click See all to find information on how the business has used Trustpilot over the past 12 months.

Can reviewers also be verified?

Yes! In fact, we encourage it. Verification of both businesses and reviewers helps keep our platform safe and protects the integrity of our reviews. To learn how to get verified as a reviewer, check out this article
