Trustpilot’s Google Tag Manager integration
Our Google Tag Manager integration allows you to add a floating TrustBox widget to your website. In this article, we’ll show you how to get started and set it up.
Set up is simple and you don’t need to know how to use Google Tag Manager or have technical knowledge to use the integration. All you need is a Google Tag Manager account and container set up. Check out Google's documentation if you're not sure if you have one set up.
Install the integration
-
In Trustpilot Business, go to Integrations > Marketing > Google Tag Manager.
-
Click Connect and sign in to your Google Tag Manager account.
-
Give Trustpilot permission to connect to Google Tag Manager. Make sure to accept all 4 permissions.
-
Click Confirm.
Display a floating widget on your website
You can add a floating widget to your website using Google Tag Manager. The widget floats in the corner of your website, and remains there as the user scrolls. Here’s how:
-
In Trustpilot Business, go to Integrations > Marketing > Google Tag Manager.
The Free plan only allows you to display the TrustBox widget Review Collector. To get access to other widgets, you will need to upgrade to another Trustpilot plan.
-
Under Display reviews, click Get started.
-
Select your widget. Choose the design that best suits your business’s needs. If you’re on one of our paid plans, you’ll have 3 to choose from. If you’re on a free plan, you only have one layout option.
-
Select the language and its placement on your website.
-
Ensure that the Google Tag Manager container shown after “Publish to” is associated with the domain on which you want to publish the widget. You can click the arrow to change the account or container.
-
Click Publish.
That’s it! The widget will appear on the domain associated with the chosen Google Tag Manager container. If you want to remove the widget, all you need to do is click Unpublish.
To edit an existing widget, you need to unpublish it first.
Disconnect the integration
Don’t want to use the integration anymore? No problem. Just remember that disconnecting will also remove your floating widget. Follow these steps to disconnect it:
-
In Trustpilot Business, go to Integrations > Marketing > Google Tag Manager.
-
Click Disconnect. In the modal, click Yes I want to disconnect.
