Location naming guidelines

When you create locations in Trustpilot Business, it's a good idea to keep the names simple, clear, and descriptive. It'll help you keep track of your locations, as well as help customers find the appropriate location to review. Here are some tips that will help you name your locations:

Each location name needs to be unique.

  • Do: Use short, descriptive names like "Copenhagen", "London, Baker Street Shop."
  • Don't do: Use vague names like London1, London2, etc.

Avoid using your company’s name in the location name. It’s already included in the URL and page headers.

  • Do: Name a location "Amsterdam."
  • Don't do: Name a location "CompanyX – Amsterdam."

Avoid punctuation marks, non-letter characters, or marketing messages in the location name.

  • Do: Name a location "Berlin."
  • Don't do: Name a location "street@berlin#buynowdiscount!1!"

Adding multiple locations

The easiest way to add your locations is to import them in a CSV file.

  1. In Trustpilot Business, go to Settings > Public profile settings > Locations. Go to Settings, Public profile settings, Locations
  2. On the Locations page, click the Import locations button.
  3. Upload a .csv file with these location-specific fields in the following order:
    • Location name
    • ID (this will be used when inviting customers to review the specific location)
    • Street address
    • Street address 2
    • ZIP code
    • City
    • State/Province/Region
    • Country
    • Location URL (optional, recommended)
    • Phone

Note: the correct COUNTRY CODE for United Kingdom is GB.

  1. Check your .csv file to make sure that the location names follow our naming guidelines. Once a location has collected reviews, you need to contact our Compliance Team to change a location's name.
  2. Upload your CSV file, then review the information to make sure that your locations uploaded correctly. If there are any errors, update the information.
  3. Select the check box to confirm that you've read and followed our guidelines, then click the Confirm the import button.

Add a single location

  1. In Trustpilot Business, go to Settings > Public profile settings > Locations. Go to Settings, Public profile settings, Locations
  2. On the Locations page, click the Add one location button.
  3. On the Add one location page, enter the following information for each of your company’s locations:

    • Locality
    • Country

Edit or delete a location

You can always add additional locations, and edit information about existing locations. To edit a location, click the Edit icon at the end of the location's entry.

You can only delete a location if it hasn't been reviewed.

Once a location's been reviewed, you can only delete it if the location no longer exists. If this happens, click on the Request to remove button. If your request is approved, your location will be removed.

Note: Reviews that are attached to a deleted location will not be deleted. These remain visible on your company’s main profile page.
