Do I need to have a constant state of at least 150 reviews in the past 12 months in order to have Rich Snippets?
You need a constant state of more than 150 verified reviews with a composite rating of 3.5 stars to get Google Seller Ratings. However for Rich Snippets there is no requirement in terms of star ratings or number of reviews.
Why aren't our Trustpilot stars always displayed in the Google AdWords ad at the top of a Google page?
Google AdWords is a paid product and we at Trustpilot do not have control over what is displayed there. Also it depends on your AdWords setup.
Will all TrustBoxes get the Rich Snippet option or only the current enabled TrustBoxes?
Only the TrustBox optimized for SEO will have that option.
Is there any scenario that would make Google penalize our site? Such as showing only certain reviews with higher stars?
If you show only your favorite reviews you should include a link to your Trustpilot profile page and that should take care of it. The best solution is to use one of the available TrustBoxes where you have the possibility of showing filtered reviews as well. All our TrustBoxes are compliant with Google's Guildelines.
