Upgrade from Automatic Feedback Service (AFS) version 1.0 to 2.0

It's free to upgrade your Trustpilot account to use Automatic Feedback Service 2.0 instead of the earlier 1.0 version. There are a few steps involved depending on your setup.

The following article will walk you through the steps - activating AFS 2.0 for your account, updating your email alias, replacing TP codes with structured data snippets, our recommendations, and testing options.

Activate Automatic Feedback Service 2.0 on your account

You can activate AFS 2.0 on your account by going to Automatic Feedback Service in Trustpilot Business and selecting Upgrade to AFS 2.0 for free. When you have gone through the steps in the wizard, the Automatic Feedback Service settings page will update to display the new AFS 2.0 settings.

Send BCCs to the new AFS email alias

In order for us to process your order confirmations with AFS 2.0, you need to update the email alias you're using to BCC Trustpilot. The wizard will guide you through this change.

Replace any TP codes with Structured Data Snippets

If you are using any special TP codes from AFS 1.0 in your order confirmations, you will need to use our new Structured Data Snippets instead. The new snippets are more efficient than the old TP codes at providing our system with special information because they add more functionality to AFS. They open up new possibilities, like collecting even more reviews by specifying the time of day the invitation should be sent or pre-tagging your reviews to gain valuable business insights. The new snippets also allow you to request product reviews and service reviews at the same time.

Please note that you may need to upgrade your plan to access some of these features.

AFS 2.0 uses Structured Data Snippets to provide our system with your customer’s name and reference number.

<script type="application/json+trustpilot">
{
  "recipientName": "Name MacNameson",
  "referenceId": "1234abcd",
  "recipientEmail": "customer@email.com"
}
</script>

If you want to test AFS 2.0

Your old AFS 1.0 email alias will continue to function in the background until you change your BCC function to the new AFS 2.0 email alias. That means you can test AFS 2.0 by manually sending examples of your emails to the new alias. The emails should be structured like the real customer emails that you will be forwarding in the end.
