TrustBoxes are Trustpilot's widgets - stand-alone applications that can be embedded in your website to show your most recent reviews, TrustScore, and star ratings. Each TrustBox comes with a specific set of features and configuration options, which can be found on the Integrations page.

This article will provide you with a general overview of how the TrustBox configuration works. For those who have built their website using an eCommerce platform or CMS, please see the instructions provided at the end of this article.

TrustBox Configuration

Here are the steps to configuring your TrustBox:

1. Choose your reviews

Firstly, decide how you would like to organize the reviews that are displayed in your TrustBox. Each TrustBox can be configured differently, so you can show your favorite reviews in one TrustBox, your latest reviews in another, and you can even create several Targeted TrustBoxes. Note that TrustBoxes are updated with new reviews every 20 minutes.

Here are more details about the four options:

  • Your latest reviews displays your most recent reviews in reverse chronological order (newest first).
  • Your reviews by star rating displays the star ratings you have selected (e.g. 3 stars, 4 stars and 5 stars) in reverse chronological order.
  • Select your favorites - this option allows you to show your favorite reviews that you've manually selected and want displayed. Note that it isn’t possible to select different “favorites” for different TrustBoxes. Read Select Reviews for TrustBox for more information about the manual selection process.
  • Target your reviews. You can customize your TrustBox for a specific target audience by tagging your reviews. You select one tag at a time, for one TrustBox at a time. This means you can have several customized TrustBoxes for several audiences. It is also possible to specify what stars you’d like displayed in your Targeted TrustBox. For example, you can choose to display reviews that are tagged with “customer service” and that only have 5 star ratings. Read Targeted TrustBox and Review Tagging for more details about implementation.

Note: Please consider that filtering reviews may mislead consumers about your company's reputation. We recommend showing consumers all reviews so they can get a complete picture. In fact, showing consumers negative reviews will confirm that you are a transparent company that values honest feedback. Learn more about how negative reviews can turn into positive customer experiences.

2. Configure your TrustBox

Secondly, configure your TrustBox to fit the design of the webpage where it will be displayed. Trustpilot’s TrustBoxes are designed to harmonize with all websites. They do not have borders, and in most cases, they are transparent, so you only need to decide whether you prefer a light or dark version. It is also important to select a suitable width and height, as well as the correct language.

3. Implement your TrustBox

Thirdly, implement your TrustBox on your webpage by following the instructions provided in How to Implement a TrustBox. Implementation may require help from your Webmaster.
