How reviews are sorted on your Trustpilot business profile

When customers visit your Trustpilot business profile, they'll first see a snapshot of reviewer feedback. They can then sort by either the most recent or most detailed reviews.

See what reviewers are saying

This section appears when a business has more than 20 reviews.

Your business profile dynamically highlights four featured reviews in the See what reviewers are saying section. These reviews are selected based on their level of detail, including factors like recency, length, and usefulness. This ensures visitors get a balanced and insightful snapshot of your customer experiences at a glance.

Here’s an example of what it looks like:

Sort all reviews

We currently offer two options for review sorting:

  • Most recent (default) – Reviews are displayed in chronological order, with the newest review at the top.
  • Detailed reviews – Reviews are sorted based on relevance, prioritizing those with more context and quality. This setting also ensures the top reviews reflect your business’s TrustScore.

You can change the sort order at any time—just click Most recent and select your preferred option from the drop-down menu.

Why is "Most recent" the default setting?

Customers rely on recent reviews to get an up-to-date reflection of your business. They want to see the latest feedback to understand current service quality, product updates, or any recent improvements you’ve made. Sorting by recency ensures they get the most timely insights first.

What determines if a review is detailed?

The four featured reviews in the See what reviewers are saying section are selected based on their level of detail. Factors that contribute to this include:

  • How recent the review is
  • The length and depth of the review
  • How readable and informative it is

We also ensure that the selection of Detailed reviews fairly represents your business’s TrustScore and overall review feedback.

We’re always refining how we assess review quality because we know that high-quality, detailed reviews benefit both consumers and businesses. Our goal is to help businesses like yours showcase valuable customer feedback while making it easier for potential customers to find the insights they need to make informed decisions.
